Senior Capstone

AIS 4099

The goal of the Senior Capstone course was for students to synthesize the knowledge and skills attained during the BTAS program in preparation for our professional practice in our respective fields. The main focus of this course was to complete and present a 15-Hour volunteer project with a community partner. For this project, I volunteered for ArtScape Lebanon, a nonprofit arts organization, to redesign their website. Below you can view my project summary, my poster presenting my experience while volunteering, and my video presentation of the information detailed in the poster.

This was a highly valuable experience as it provided me with insights about the operation of nonprofits, permitted me to practice digital media communication and technical skills involved in web design activities, and granted me project management experience.

Another important element of this course was a team project in which we analyzed a real company’s position in the context of a specific issue they are experience. Our team evaluated Meta (Facebook) and characterized their issue as a threat to company culture and employee satisfaction due to a pivoting business direction and the risks of burnout in the high stress environments common in the Big Tech industry. You can view our final paper and presentation below.
