My PLP Proposal

Planning my PLP has been a really difficult process because of the volume of writing activities that we are to produce. And while I’m not saying that being a strong writer isn’t an important component of a successful design career, it’s not necessarily a requirement, and writing tasks occur relatively infrequently and on a small scale in this profession.

I’ve been brainstorming a lot of ways in which I could approach and, while my ideas are certainly not refined yet, I feel it is essential that my PLP include artist statements and project proposals. After our class discussions regarding audience, and from the impression I got from my interviewee about the variable audiences I will have to write for, maybe a fun way to approach this would be writing multiple versions of the same message but one for each audience I intend to address. So for a design project idea that I want to pitch, I could write four different “letters to the reader” that address the variable interests, needs, and backgrounds of my different audience types. I’ll expand upon this in more detail very soon!

As always, thanks for reading!
